I will revisit my student film, "A Lady and a City," and reveal how the city has changed since the original 16 mm black and white college film in 1998. In Lady and a City Revisited, I will again include my grandmother Marjorie Nordstrom Schneider's story, past experiences, and future visions of Bridgeport, CT, where she worked and lived during WW2, with video clips and audio clips from the black and white original film from 1998 mixed with new video and audio from today in the year 2024. I will show how the city has changed from before, during, and after 1998, when I filmed the town in A Lady and a City, until today in 2024. Along with the updated character and location shots from the student film, I will also include interviews with ladies of all ages who have lived in Bridgeport, CT, in the past and now and their visions of the city in the future. The short video is in early development, and 2025 will be released.
This is a story about my grandmother, Marjorie Nordstrom Schneider, and the history of Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA, during the 20th and 21st Centuries.
Music: Universal Media Group / Columbia Records: Neil Diamond (Album: "Headed for the Future")
(Song: "The Story of My Life")
I want to thank Neil Diamond personally for letting me use his song "The Story of My Life" in my student film "A Lady and A City" in 1998 for Fairfield University. I will keep that song in the original movie unless I hear otherwise. Any money raised from the student film will go directly to Neil Diamond or those "involved associate people." I will not use any of his material for the 2025 sequel.
Just a note on the use of Neil Diamond's song, "The Story of My Life." I originally included it in the student film "A Lady & A City back in 1998. I receive no money for the use of the song and have no intentions of copyright infringement. I just thought the song fit well with my student film. If asked by the song's owners, I will take it out. Suppose I do not receive any money for using the song in the movie. In that case, all money will go to the Parkinson's Foundation, using Neil Diamond, Universal Media Group, or any other relevant party. Thank you for listening, and enjoy the film. Also, thanks Neil.
